Gamban to Offer Gambling Blocking Product in Spanish

The UK-based gambling block provider Gamban is expanding its service with a Spanish-language version of its software. It said the product can be downloaded in all Spanish-speaking countries although it’s particularly thinking of Spain where the government has been focusing closely on safer gambling and has introduced restrictions on gambling advertising.

The Spanish Ministry of Consumer Affairs has been seeking further new safer gambling legislation and has been working on the integration of problem gambling treatment services across Spain’s 17 autonomous regions.

Gamban CEO Jack Symons said: “Spanish has the second largest population of native speakers in the world, so this is a really important step in ensuring blocking software is accessible to as many people harmed by gambling as possible.”

He added: “We’ve gone from strength to strength since we launched in 2015, setting the standard in gambling blocking software. Gamban’s used by thousands of people worldwide and we’ve received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback with some users informing the team that it has literally saved their life.

“Taking the first step continues to be the hardest challenge and much of our time goes into making Gamban as simple and straightforward to install as possible.”

CashMagnet Ltd, the company behind some of the most popular online casino comparison sites in the world, has appointed industry heavyweight Joni Oinonen as Chief Marketing Officer.

Oinonen has been tasked with developing and deploying the marketing strategies for CashMagnet’s growing roster of online casino affiliate brands which include Mr-Gamble.com, UKBingoSites.co.uk and DailyCasinoBonus.co.uk.

Part of his remit covers launching new brands on the CashMagnet platform, which has been developed in-house to allow the company to run an unlimited number of sites from a single content management system.

He joins CashMagnet from MediaInvesting where he quickly progressed from the role of Head of Marketing to Chief Operating Officer. Oinonen has also held senior marketing and SEO roles at the likes of the Global Gaming Group.

Allwyn Increases Stake in OPAP to 48.1%

Allwyn Entertainment, the group-wide brand for SAZKA Entertainment AG, announced that it has reached an agreement with Yeonama Holdings Co. Limited to purchase the remaining minority interest in SAZKA Delta AIF Variable Investment Company Ltd (SAZKA Delta), an entity through which Allwyn holds part of its interest in OPAP S.A. (OPAP), for consideration of €327.4 million. As a result, Allwyn’s economic interest in OPAP will increase from 41.2% to 48.1%. Taking into account the net debt and working capital of SAZKA Delta, the transaction implies a premium of more than 10% on OPAP’s current market share price. The purchase price will be financed with cash from the balance sheet, including cash raised by the recent €600 million bond issuance.

“Acquiring the remaining minority interest in SAZKA Delta is an important step for Allwyn and continues our long-term strategy of increasing stakes in our operating companies. This transaction concludes a series of transactions through which we have bought out the interests of other shareholders in SAZKA Delta over the last three years. Together with our election to receive OPAP’s dividends as scrip and open market share purchases, we have increased our economic interest in OPAP from 23.7% in 2018 to 48.1% today. FBMDS starts the 2022 growth campaign by signing a deal with B2B iGaming supplier EveryMatrix. The new contract will see the companies entering a two-way agreement, with FBMDS launching on EveryMatrix’s turnkey platform, while the former will integrate FBM’s vast selection of video bingo, slots, and table games into its casino platform.
