ESFI Conducts Special Meet with IOA

In a bid to discuss the growth of Esports in the country and hand over exclusive training kits produced by Hama to the Indian Esports contingent that will be participating at the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) organised a special meet with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at the IOA Office in Delhi on Wednesday.

The event was graced by Mr. Kalyan Chaubey, Joint secretary & acting CEO of the IOA who presented the training kits to Street Fighter V athlete Mayank Prajapati, League of Legends player Mihir Ranjan and FIFA ace Harman Tikka in the presence of Mr. Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI & Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF), Mr. Yugal Sharma, Vice President of ESFI and Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Vice-President of ESFI.

Mr. Chaubey also engaged in a discussion with the ESFI representatives and Indian athletes to motivate them for the Asian Games and talk about fostering an ecosystem that enables Esports to thrive in the country.

Esports recently gained official recognition as a multi-sport event by the government of India and is set to make its debut as a full-fledged medal sport at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. ACMA Takes Action Against Illegal “Skins” Gambling Site

Online gaming company Feral Holdings Limited has been given a formal warning and its CS:GO Roll website has been withdrawn from Australia after the company was found to be providing prohibited interactive gambling services.

An Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) investigation found CS:GO Roll was providing casino-style online games, which are illegal under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 if the games are played for money or anything else of value.

CS:GO Roll allowed users to deposit “skins” from popular video game Counter Strike: Global Offensive in exchange for in-game coins that could be used to gamble on casino-style games. Winnings from CS:GO Roll would then be paid out in the form of skins, which could be converted into real money using third-party platforms.

Gaming skins are used to change the look of virtual items or characters and can be won in video games or purchased via third party websites.

ACMA Chair Nerida O’Loughlin said gambling sites must follow Australian gambling laws, even if they use virtual items instead of traditional currency.

“Providing casino-style games online is prohibited in Australia when playing for money or something of value, whether that’s Australian dollars, cryptocurrency or in this case, online gaming skins,” Ms O’Loughlin said.

“Skins gambling services are particularly concerning as they tap into a youth market and have the potential to convert gamers into gamblers,” she said.

Feral Holdings has been issued with a formal warning for contravening Australian gambling laws.

Ebeling, co-founder of VHS and Zed.Run, joins the creative studio behind Meta 11, which aims to pioneer a new category of sports entertainment.

Behaviol, the creative studio behind Meta 11 that is combining the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain to redefine sports entertainment, has announced the appointment of Chris Ebeling as Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Behaviol, which recently raised $2.5 million in angel investment, is redefining sports entertainment to create an immersive and engaging sports gaming experience that is accessible to everyone. The company facilitates greater fan engagement and enhanced ownership between players and their chosen sport.

Ebeling joins Behaviol’s leadership team from his position as co-founder and Creative Director of Zed.Run, a blockchain-based, digital horse racing game that allows players to buy, breed and race NFT horses. With its unique blend of traditional horse racing and cutting-edge blockchain technology, Zed.Run was a pioneer in the web3 space, quickly becoming one of the most popular NFT games on the market.

Ebeling is a world-class animator, creative director, writer and digital artist and has worked on Hollywood blockbusters such as The Lego Movies, The Great Gatsby, Gods of Egypt and Happy Feet 2. Ebeling has also worked on DC and Marvel projects as well as AAA gaming cinematic productions. Supplementing his extensive film and VFX background, Ebeling has been creative director of projects in the real-time space, with experience across games as well as virtual and augmented reality projects.
