Online Blockchain plc: Umbria Network Releases Lowest-cost Avalanche Cross-chain Bridge

Umbria ($UMBR) is pleased to announce the full public launch of its highly anticipated Avalanche (AVAX) bridge ahead of schedule.

Users of Umbria’s Narni liquidity bridge – bridge.umbria.network – can now move their Ether (ETH) between the Ethereum Mainnet and the Avalanche network quickly, easily and cheaply at approximately a 90% discount to the official AVAX bridging solution. Comparison testing of the two bridges for sending 0.01 ETH from the Ethereum network to the Avalanche network (February 11th, 2022) provided the following results:

Narni Bridge – Cost: $2.43; transaction speed: 2 minutes and 42 seconds

AVAX official bridge – Cost $27.62; transaction speed: 10 minutes and 34 seconds

View the comparison video demonstration here.

The Narni bridge already provides the fastest and cheapest bridging from the Ethereum network to the Polygon network and Binance Smart Chain (and vice versa) and will shortly be adding Fantom. A further eight bridges for EVM-compatible chains are planned in 2022 as per the Umbria roadmap. In addition to transferring assets between these networks, users can provide liquidity to the bridge as a single asset to earn high APY with no impermanent loss. Whenever a participant bridges assets between two cryptocurrency networks using Narni, the liquidity providers receive a share of a 0.2% fee in the native crypto/token they supplied – bridge.umbria.network/pool.

“Onboarding new crypto users to Avalanche can be difficult due to the technical challenges and knowledge required, the lengthy transaction times and the prohibitive costs. Our bridging protocol removes these barriers, which ultimately increases access to Avalanche projects from Ethereum,” said Barney Chambers, co-lead developer and founder of Umbria Network. “We’re looking forward to introducing an even wider audience to the Umbria ecosystem and are excited to be moving ever closer to being the hub for the cheapest and fastest cross-chain transactions.”

Online Blockchain plc: Cheap, Fast and Easy Bridging of ETH on Umbria Network

Ether (ETH), the native cryptocurrency for the Ethereum Network, can be transferred exceptionally quickly and cheaply cross-chain using Umbria’s Narni Bridge – bridge.umbria.network.

The world’s second-largest digital currency by market cap can typically be transferred from the Ethereum blockchain to the Polygon blockchain in less than four minutes, and often at a cost of just $4$9. This is a fraction of the gas price of other solutions and has led to Narni being adopted by many in the NFT community who had previously been experiencing exorbitant fees.

Users of Umbria’s cross-chain liquidity bridge can also earn a passive income from their $ETH through Narni’s ‘pool and earn’  – https://bridge.umbria.network/pool/  This feature enables participants to lend their assets to the bridge, that is become liquidity providers (LPs), to earn interest. LPs receive fees when other users bridge ETH between networks. There is no impermanent loss, as experienced with most other platforms, as only one asset is provided as opposed to a liquidity pair.

“As a result of the integration of Polygon on the OpenSea platform there’s been an explosion in the number of NFT projects being built on Polygon. This means there’s a massive demand for bridging ETH to the Polygon Network (that is exchanging ETH for WETH) in this space alone,” said Barney Chambers, Co-lead developer of Umbria Network. “It isn’t just the cheap and fast bridging that has got the community excited, the APY for lending the asset is also very attractive. We currently have almost $1.5 million TVL in Ethereum alone on the bridge.”

For more information about the bridge see the Umbria documentation page: bridge.umbria.network/docs and for feedback, questions and the very latest news about Umbria and the Narni Bridge please head to our Discord channel.

Online Blockchain plc: Umbria announces latest partnerships in NFT space

Umbria Network is collaborating with a range of exciting NFT projects, built on the Polygon network, to introduce their communities to its game changing cross-chain bridge (Narni).

Using the Narni Bridge, it typically takes less than four minutes and often costs just $4-$9 to transfer assets from Ethereum to Polygon. This makes it approximately 10 times cheaper and 10 times faster than other available cross-chain bridges. The speed and cost advantages of the Umbria Narni bridge have led to its adoption by projects including Zed Run, Chicken Derby, House of Kibaa and CryptoIsland. Aavegotchi recently partnered with Umbria to provide its users with the cheapest and fastest way to bridge its GHST token (GHST holders can also earn interest on their GHST by staking their tokens in the bridge pool).

Umbria is pleased to announce the following new partnerships and collaborations:

Aww, Rats! are a series of 1,000 ‘vermiNFTs’ which live on the Polygon network. They have a unique combination of assigned ‘rattributes’, rat pieces (fur colour, eyes, tails style, facial expressions, accessories etc) and backstory. Rat owners currently get access to a series of dApps created by the team for styling their Rats and showcasing them (http://awwrats.com/sewer). In the future, holders will additionally get access to tools to help build out their own NFT projects. Go to: http://awwrats.com to find out more.

FunkoBits is a project of 10,000 random and unique characters generated with python. FunkoBits recommends the Narni bridge on its OpenSea collection page, which can be viewed here: https://opensea.io/collection/funkobits. Co-lead developer Oscar Chambers has even bought FunkoBits #1. The V2 minting starts on the 24th of November: https://funkobits.com

Matic Mike is a 100% on chain high utility generative NFT built on the Polygon chain with staking, PvP (player vs player), PvE (player vs environment) and upgrading features. A cross between Zed and Anonymice, Matic Mike’s goal is to provide competitive features with some comedic relief. The project has partnered with Umbria and endorses Narni as its official Ethereum to Polygon bridge for sending funds to and from Polygon at the lowest rates. Matic Mike has recently launched its PvP battle Royale; take a look: https://maticmike.club/

Elegant Elephants Society (EES) is a herd of 7,500 secret spies aka unique digital collectibles, drawn by hand, assembled by code and living on the Polygon blockchain. Each Elegant Elephant doubles as a Key Card and grants access to members-only benefits. Additionally, 10% of all profits go to charity. Elephant Society strongly recommends using the Umbria Narni Bridge for transferring ETH to wETH. Minting now: https://elegantelephantsociety.com/mint

SPKY FRSH are composable, evolutionary NFTs, built on Polygon using the ERC1155 token standard. The team’s mission is to disrupt the NFT industry by building a co-creation ecosystem that enables collectors, brands, and mission driven organizations to engage in social impact causes. Its NFT Avatars aka Spirit of Guide of the Metaverse are a set of 369 Limited Edition NFTs that include three out of 18 Spirit Forces (time, gravity and light). Each Spirit Force is hand crafted with 50+ unique traits, generatively summoned, and staked to one of the 17 UN Sustainability Goals + the Creative Commons. Royalties from secondary sales will be allocated to the FRSH Dao to support impact causes, voted on by its community of NFT holders. The collection can be minted on its website or viewed on Opensea: https://opensea.io/collection/spky-frsh…

Umbria has also been working with Shroom Folk who has been recommending the Narni Bridge to its community. Shroom Folk is a collection of 6666 generative NFTs, which are minting now on the Polygon blockchain. More details about this project herehttps://shroomfolk.io/

Umbria’s partners gain visibility from an entirely new audience, who are interested in exciting new cryptocurrency and NFT projects. In addition to being included in the partner sections on both the homepage and the bridge page, partner projects are introduced to the Umbria community and are incorporated into Umbria’s social media and traditional marketing campaigns. Umbria also provides technical support for a partnered project’s community when using Narni for bridging.

“We love seeing creative and innovative NFT projects doing great things on Polygon and we’re enjoying engaging and improving the experience of their passionate and supportive communities,” said Barney Chambers, co-lead developer of Umbria Network. “The feedback has been fantastic as NFT enthusiasts are genuinely amazed by how cheap bridging is with the Narni Bridge. We look forward to opening the door to lots more projects.”

online-blockchain-plc:-umbria-announces-alpha-version-of-its-layer-2-dex

Online Blockchain plc: Umbria announces alpha version of its Layer 2 DEX

The first phase of Umbria Network’s DEX development has been completed.

The DeFi protocol’s trading platform is fully functional with asset swaps and liquidity provision both successfully tested. Umbria – https://umbria.network/ -, which was recently mapped on Polygon (formerly Matic), will enable its users to benefit from fast, fractional cost transactions when using its developing suite of features. On testing, the transaction fees for swapping ERC20 tokens were less than $0.001. The Layer 2 DEX is a modified version of SushiSwap with extra governance features.

The Umbria token list, which includes the ERC20 assets that users will be able to swap and provide liquidity for on Umbria DEX, can be viewed here.

The development team is currently building out the user interface with asset swapping on the Umbria DEX and official liquidity pools (that will provide bonus UMBR for liquidity providers) scheduled for Q3 of 2021, which is in line with its roadmap.

The next farm – https://farm.umbria.network/ – on the Umbria platform will be on Polygon chain and will be for the UMBR-MATIC liquidity pair. It will work in a similar way to Umbria’s existing Ethereum farm but fees to enter and exit will be much lower. The team will continue creating farms with the most favourable APY possible.

“We’re very pleased with the liquidity we’re seeing for UMBR-ETH and we will enable people to easily migrate this liquidity directly from Uniswap onto the Umbria DEX,” said Oscar Chambers, Co-lead developer of Umbria.  “There are many developments and features in the pipeline, which will get our community excited. Fast, low-cost transactions and attractive APY are key for the project.”

Online Blockchain plc- Early UMBR adopters reaping the benefits in Umbria Farm

Farming rewards have begun for UMBR holders depositing into the Umbria Farm.

Currently, approximately 1 UMBR token is minted per minute; a share of which is distributed to anyone who has staked their Uniswap ETH LP- UMBR tokens in the Farm (smart contract). Rewards for those depositing commenced on Saturday 27th March at block 12120000 and will continue for a further 50,000 blocks. The APY at time of writing is 1187%.[1]

The Umbria DeFi protocol, which uses cutting edge layer 2 technology, provides full flexibility on governance rewards given to holders with the amount minted per block easy to change and vary as many times as necessary. Umbria offers an improvement to the SushiSwap protocol by leveraging the next generation of DeFi technology – layer 2. Community members can make governance proposals on the Umbria Discord channel. As the project matures there will be full on chain governance so token holders will be able to vote on how many UMBR per block are minted for farming.

Anyone staking their ETH-UMBR LP tokens can unstake them at any time and the tokens

plus the Umbria rewards received will go back into their metamask wallet. Those that have added their LP tokens to the Umbria Farm will be included in the Umbria airdrop snapshot on April 15th and eligible to claim their free tokens on May 15th.

“Our code base provides more flexibility on governance and, specifically for yield farmers, more flexibility for token distribution than SushiSwap,” said Barney Chambers, Co-lead developer at Umbria. “We’re really excited by the progress of Umbria and the very positive response of our growing community.”
