Acquisitions

Netflix has announced that it has acquired Spry Fox, an independent gaming studio that focuses on developing original games with a feel good tone. Spry Fox is now Netflix’s sixth in-house games studio.

Boyd Gaming Corporation announced that it has closed on its previously announced acquisition of Pala Interactive LLC and its subsidiaries for total net cash consideration of $170 million.

Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has completed its acquisition of all Peninsula Pacific Entertainment (P2E) assets for $2.75bn.

Brazilian esports organisation LOUD has appointed Brazilian influencer Iran ‘Luva de Pedreiro’ Ferreira as its brand ambassador.

Kindred Group has signed an agreement with the Swinomish Tribe in Anacortes, Washington. Esports portfolio company X1 Esports and Entertainment has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire digital influencer management company Tyrus Talent Services.

Casino officials for Elk Grove’s Sky River Casino have announced that the casino is set to open in early September, two months ahead of schedule. Casino officials did not specify a date in their announcement, but work on the 100,000-square-foot casino west of Highway 99 near Kammerer Road is nearly complete as hiring continues.

Las Vegas Sands Corp has reported financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2022. Net revenue was $1.05 billion, compared to $1.17 billion in the prior year quarter. Operating loss was $147 million, compared to $139 million in the prior year quarter.
