Gauselmann Group has finished acquiring the four Nordrhein-Westfalen casinos operated by Westdeutsche Spielbanken.

The purchase agreement between NRW.BANK and the Gauselmann Group for the takeover of the casinos in NRW was signed on July 20. The deal was reviewed by the region’s antitrust authorities and finally got approval on September 1.

“We look forward to welcoming the new employees to our company. Together we will make the casinos in North Rhine-Westphalia even more successful,” Paul Gauselmann, founder of Gauselmann Group, said.

“We used the time between the signing of the purchase contract and the final approval by the antitrust authorities to prepare for the integration of the casinos into the group of companies. In addition to the technical and organizational aspects, the focus was in particular on the personal introduction of the management to the colleagues in the casino locations and the headquarters in Duisburg. We will intensify this dialogue in the coming weeks and have planned welcome events for all new colleagues in our training center at Schloss Benkhausen,” David Schnabel, Managing Director of MERKUR Spielbanken, said.

TVBET strengthens its positions in Poland through a deal with Betclic

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Live games provider TVBET has announced a new deal with Polish bookmaker Betclic.pl. Two selected TVBET games will be available for Betclic customers at launch. Both companies came to this agreement under a single mission — to provide even more high-quality opportunities for customers and diversify their leisure.

TVBET doesn’t stand still and continues to conclude even more deals in its homeland. This time, the B2B provider of TV games has joined forces with Betclic.pl which is a Polish branch of Betclic Group.

Betclic Group is a customer-centric European online gaming operator founded in Paris in September 2007. The operator’s brands provide millions of players with the ability to express their passion for Sport and Horse-racing betting, Poker, and Casino Games. Headquartered in Bordeaux, the operator also has offices in Malta, Lisbon, & Rome.

Betclic.pl is a legal online bookmaker which provides its services in Poland since 2019. At Betclic, players can make bets on about all the most popular sports in a pre-match and live offer. In addition to popular “traditional” disciplines, Betclic players can bet on e-sports and on the outcome of games such as CS, GO, LoL or Overwatch. In addition to this already rich offer, 2 TVBET card games are now available for betting at Betclic.pl, specifically:

PokerBet: A popular online game for bookmakers based on the well-known rules of Texas Hold’em Poker. During the game, there are five rounds on which players may place bets: Initial Bet, Pre-flop, Flop, Turn, and River.

21Bet (or Blackjack): One of the most popular card games in the world. The attraction of this game is the simplicity of the rules. Two players must score closest to 21, just like in regular Blackjack.

TVBET and Betclic teams are happy to unite their forces under one goal — to bring more joy and high-quality products to their customers. Both companies believe that this cooperation will give an exceptional experience to players from Poland.

Games Industry Rates Bavaria, Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia the Best Locations in Germany

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Which German states shine the brightest as games industry locations due to their political commitment to regional companies and actors? A survey of the German games industry gave top ranking to Bavaria, just ahead of Berlin, with a close third place going to North Rhine-Westphalia. These are the results of game’s (German Games Industry Association) industry barometer 2021, based on a poll of association members. Hamburg and Baden-Württemberg took fourth and fifth places, respectively.

“A number of Germany’s states have strengthened their regional commitment to the games industry considerably in the last several years. This has resulted in improved conditions in the respective locations, for example through higher and specified funding levels, games summits or dedicated hubs. This commitment is critical for games companies, as conditions vary starkly between the different German states – and, along with good general infrastructure and access to qualified employees, these conditions are often decisive when it comes to investing and locating. The importance of regional support has grown even more due to the launch of the national games funding – because it finally allows internationally competitive conditions for all of Germany, while the individual states can set specific focuses with their own funding programmes, such as support of young company founders. In this dynamic growth phase of the industry, all states, regardless of their size, can and should tap their own potential to their best advantage,” Felix Falk, Managing Director of game, said.

Just how strongly financial support for the games industry varies between states can be clearly seen when comparing, for example, North Rhine-Westphalia and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: whereas 3 million euros goes to games production between the Rhine and the Ruhr annually, developers on the Baltic coast thus far receive nothing in funding. Hamburg reintroduced games funding in 2020, supporting the development of prototypes, among other things. The city state provides 520,000 euros for this purpose annually. Rhineland-Palatinate is set to launch a regional games funding programme amounting to 125,000 euros in late 2021. In 2020, federal states such as Berlin and Brandenburg as well as Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony and Saarland also increased their funding for computer and video games.

Entain’s bwin brand has extended its partnerships to support professional football in Germany for a further three seasons.

The new deals mean bwin will continue to be the exclusive sports betting partner of five Bundesliga soccer teams: Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin, Cologne, St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden until the end of 2023/2024.

The sponsorship deals reflect Entain’s ambition for its global brands to be part of great sporting experiences enjoyed by customers, at all levels. Alongside sponsoring top clubs, Entain has also taken a lead in supporting grass roots and community sport, as well as aspiring young athletes.

“It’s a great honour for us to continue our long-term partnership with these long-standing clubs. Our sponsorships underline the importance of the fans and the passion for football. Authenticity is a top priority for bwin, just as it is for our five partner clubs. We’re therefore delighted to be maintaining our close partnership with them over the next three years,” Stephan Heilmann, Managing Director of Digital Europe Entain, said.

“We’d like to thank bwin for placing their trust in us. We still believe that the two brands are an excellent match. Since we’re always interested in long-term partnerships, it’s only logical to continue our existing collaboration,” Carsten Cramer, Managing Director of Borussia Dortmund, said.

“We’re delighted to have bwin as a powerful brand at our side as a betting partner for the next three years. Working together, we’ve already developed exciting features for our fans such as FC Cologne Matchday Tip and betting odds integration on our platforms, and will continue on this successful path together,” Alexander Wehrle, Managing Director of FC Cologne, said.

“Over the past three years, we’ve found bwin to be a reliable partner, and we’re thrilled to be able to continue working together in the long term. bwin is an internationally networked brand with high appeal, yet also closely associated with German football. We look forward to the fantastic projects we’ll be carrying out together in the coming seasons,” Bernd von Geldern, Sales Manager of FC St Pauli, said.

“We’re delighted to be able to keep giving our fans attractive matchday offers together with bwin. The company has been at home in sport for years and become established as a leading bookmaker thanks to its success in the digital realm,” Thomas Stäpke, Director of Finance and Sales at Union Berlin, said.

“Especially at the current time, the fact that our deal with bwin has been extended by another three years in collaboration with our marketing agency SPORTFIVE is a strong indication of the high mutual regard resulting from our partnership over the past three years. Together, we look back on many joint activities in the past – and look forward to many more in the future,” Jürgen Wehlend, Managing Director of Dynamo Dresden, said.

adesso launches its new iGaming platform LotteryForce

Reading Time: 3 minutes

With LotteryForce, the IT service provider adesso is releasing the latest generation of iGaming platform on the market. LotteryForce provides lottery companies around the world with the opportunity to manage a wide range of games on all channels – from classic lotto to keno, scratch cards or sports betting. Thanks to a modern player account management system, lotteries can always see what players are up to. Technically, LotteryForce can be integrated seamlessly into existing centralised systems using high-performance interfaces. Its cloud-based modular architecture is flexible and can be scaled up easily.

LotteryForce replaces in|FOCUS, adesso’s previous iGaming suite. The new platform places an even greater focus on customers. The LotteryForce Player Account Management (PAM) module records all gaming activities centrally and provides a 360-degree view of all customers. Smart identity management ensures that anonymous players become identifiable participants. This helps lottery operators to address their customers in a more effective way while complying with all data protection regulations and fulfilling their responsibility to protect players. For extra convenience when playing, LotteryForce PAM features an integrated e-wallet that can be used to make cashless deposits and withdrawals quickly and easily.

Addressing customers successfully, managing partners effectively

LotteryForce offers innovative Salesforce-based solutions for targeted marketing and sales activities. This makes it possible to address players personally across all service channels, whether by telephone, e-mail or social media. Itself suggests the optimal time and channel for this based on intelligent data analysis of gaming behaviour, making advertising and campaigns more efficient and successful.

LotteryForce provides functions along the entire process chain for the optimal management of sales partners in the retail sector, from onboarding and contract management, including e-signatures, to hardware history and case management. What is more, because LotteryForce automatically delivers reports and analyses of relevant performance indicators in graph form, lottery companies are provided with transparent information on their entire retail business at all times.

Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) and cloud capability

By using hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) as the basis for LotteryForce, adesso is taking the iGaming platform to a completely new technological level. Instead of having to run on customers’ own servers, operations can also be carried out via the cloud depending on their individual requirements. As a modular solution, LotteryForce can be scaled up quickly and easily. Integrating it into lottery companies’ existing IT systems is a breeze thanks to high-performance interfaces.

Sachsenlotto, WestLotto and Thüringer Staatslotterie count on LotteryForce

adesso’s team of experts drew on more than 20 years of experience in the lottery industry when designing the new platform. Several international customers have already decided in favour of LotteryForce. In Germany, three state-owned lottery companies – Sachsenlotto, WestLotto and the Thüringer Staatslotterie – have recently completed a successful launch of LotteryForce. “Thüringer Staatslotterie has been relying on the iGaming suite from adesso since 2013. We introduced the new platform, LotteryForce, this year. It is an extremely stable and reliable platform, which is connected at the back end to the central system of IGT. The coordinated and smooth cooperation of the software components have impressed us from day one,” says Jochen Staschewski, CEO Thüringer Staatslotterie, expressing his enthusiasm about the new solution from adesso.

Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Striemer, head of lottery business at adesso, is pleased about the successful launch of the iGaming platform: “LotteryForce is a modular product that draws on our long-standing experience in the industry and our comprehensive technological expertise. This iGaming platform provides lottery companies with a tool that meets the highest demands placed on a modern system while also offering benefits, especially for sales and marketing.”
