Tournament operators Epic Esports Events and Beyond the Summit are expanding cooperation in the field of broadcasting Dota 2 esports competitions. As part of the new agreement, operators will be able to exchange media rights for the airwaves of all their tournaments. RuHub Studio will cover the Beyond the Summit tournaments in Russian, Beyond the Summit will broadcast Epic Esports Events competitions in English, including the Dota 2 Champions League Season 6 matches from January 2022.

Beyond the Summit plans to cover the matches of the Eastern Europe DPC tournament in English, and the broadcast of the Southeast Asian League in Russian will be conducted by RuHub Studio.

A young entrepreneur in the UK who set up his business at the age of just 17 with £300, has moved into the gaming and esports industry due to huge consumer demand pressures.

George Greenhill, Founder of Protein Package, established the healthy snack brand business in 2017 from his parents’ home in Wolverhampton whilst he was still at secondary school.

The business provides a ‘pick and mix’ style approach to ordering a variety of nutritional supplements and snacks online which are sourced from all over the world. The company really took off in 2020 owing to an increase in online consumer habits during the pandemic.

This recent growth has resulted in gamers and esports fans requesting that Protein Package expands into the gaming supplementation space to accompany their wide range of sports supplements and ‘better for you’ snacking options.

In November 2021, Protein Package decided to answer consumer calls and make the move, commenting on the expansion into the gaming sector, George said: “We’re very excited to be entering this ever-expanding market, especially one with innovative brands popping up all of the time. We made the progression from selling only high protein products to general healthy snacks back in 2019 and felt now was the right time to dive into the gaming and esports supplement market.

We’ve been getting requests daily to help improve the range of gaming supplements in the country and it’s a community I have always had close ties with. After looking into the UK market, we felt it has been neglected and left behind due to the lack of top brand availability such as GFUEL, CTRL and Razorwire when compared to America and Canada. At Protein Package, we want to change that so gamers don’t have to wait for weeks to receive international shipments which can face lengthy delivery and expensive unexpected customs charges.”

‘Penta Amateur League’ December to feature BGMI, November results announced

Gaming and esports company, Penta Esports, has announced that ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ (BGMI) will be the esports title of ‘Penta Amateur League’ December 2021 edition with a prize pool of ₹5,00,000. Registrations have started and squads can enter the tournament on Penta Esports’ platform.

The qualifiers of the tournament will run from 13th to 21st December. The finals will be broadcast live on Penta’s Facebook page and YouTube channel from 28th to 30th December. The broadcast will be preluded by the ‘Penta Talk Show’ on 25th December.

The ‘Penta Amateur League’ is exclusively for amateurs and semi-professional esports athletes and teams. The games chosen for the tournament throughout the league will be platform agnostic and will include PC, console and mobile titles. Season 1 of the league will run for six months, October 2021 to March 2022, with a monthly prize pool of ₹5,00,000, adding up to a total prize pool of ₹30,00,000.

The November 2021 edition of the league featured Valorant. The playoffs took place from from 26th to 28th November with team God Particles winning the tournament 3 – 1 in a best of 5 match finals against Nogas Esports.

The broadcast of the playoffs were preluded by the Penta Talk Show, with the caster and host discussing the qualifiers, team journeys and discussing possibilities for the playoffs. The final day of the playoffs also saw an opening music performance by singer and songwriter, Sushant Satija prior to the matches.

Leading global esports platform Challengermode has teamed up with Allied Esports and Cyberathlete Championship Series to host the European and North American open qualifiers for the 2022 Six Invitational – the last chance for competitors to make it to the Rainbow 6 World Championships in Montreal.

The winner of the open qualifiers for each region will win a spot at the SI2022 finals being held in Montreal, Canada next February. There they will have a chance to compete against the best professional teams in the world for a prize pool of $3million. The Group Stage will take place from February 8th-12th, playoffs from February 14th-20th, with the Grand Final happening on February 20th 2022.

Organised by Allied Esports and the Cyberathlete Championship Series (CCS), the first Qualifier starts 4th December, with tournament sign-up now available for any hopeful teams across Europe or North America. Monaco Esports Federation (MESF) in partnership with International Esports Federation (IESF) is pleased to announce the Monaco Sim Racing World Cup warm-up event that will take place on December 7-8, 2021 in Dubai, UAE in the Pavilion of Monaco at the Dubai 2020 Expo.

The Dubai event will serve as a promo event for the Sim Racing World Cup that will be hosted live from Monaco in May 2022.

With the warm-up event, the visitors and members of the pavilions of Expo Dubai 2020 will be able to learn more about Esports. Spectators and exhibitors of the Expo have the chance to get behind the wheel of a Racing Sim and compete in the race. Professional drivers of National Federations will also show their driving skills during the event.

Qualifiers will start on the 7th of December live from the Pavilion from 18:00 to 20:00. The 8th of December will continue the qualifiers from 10:30-16:00 followed by a showcase of professional sim drivers. The Final Races will start at 17:30.

NASR Esports takes Global Esports Tour 2021 Dubai title in undefeated run

United Arab Emirates-based team NASR Esports lifted the Global Esports Tour 2021 Dubai title in style, winning the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament in an undefeated run on November 27.

The team beat Doomsday 2-0 in the semi-finals in a best-of-three tie, before whitewashing Triple 6 3-0 in the best-of-five grand final to win the US$8,000 pay cheque.

The runners-up took home US$4,000 while Doomsday and Level E-sports won US$1,500 for making it to the final four.

They came through a field of 30 teams that took part in the open qualifiers, all vying for a spot at next year’s Global Esports Tour Dubai.

NASR Esports’ victory will assure them a spot at the event in March, where they will compete against the world’s best professional CS:GO teams for a total prize pool of US$250,000.

The Dubai event wraps up the 2021 season of the Global Esports Tour, following successful stops in Los Angeles and Riyadh. Next up on the GEF calendar is the inaugural edition of its flagship event: the Global Esports Games held from December 17-19 in Singapore.

While we’re being treated to a World Championship battle for the ages in real-world F1, the F1 Esports Series Pro Championship presented by Aramco is matching it for drama with Mercedes and Red Bull going into the second-half of the season level on 140 points, as they fight to get their hands on a share of the $750,000 prize pot.

A hat-trick of wins for Red Bull in Event 2 was crucial as they look to retain their crown in the Teams’ Championship, whilst reigning Drivers’ Champion Jarno Opmeer continues to rack up the points for the challengers. Opmeer, who has had no trouble settling in to Mercedes, leads the way in the Drivers’ standings, but is coming under serious pressure from Lucas Blakeley, who is showing that his form in Event 1 was no fluke.

Event 2 saw drivers take on an iconic trio of circuits, but Event 3 sees them face more ‘modern classics’ as we head for Portimão, Zandvoort and the Circuit of Americas, with the competitors set to give it their all to try and go into the Grand Final in the best possible shape.

F1 Esports has become bigger, it has become much more known and much more present in the mainstream media in the last few years. Of course, the depth of talent is getting bigger and bigger each year as more participants sign up. I know I’m driving the best I ever have done and the data behind the scenes proves that so I’m confident within myself and I’m confident that myself and David [Tonizza] will be regular fixtures on the podium and fighting for the championship.

Nicolas Longuet – Alpine

Event 3 has some of the trickiest tracks in the Championship. COTA [Circuit of the Americas] is really technical with the tyre temperatures and you have to keep an eye on managing the tyre temperatures, whereas I enjoy going flat out. Zandvoort is also interesting as overtaking is really tricky. Although they’re difficult races, I feel very good about racing them and look forward to the challenge.

Álvaro Carretón – Williams

Good vibes on the team are important as the mental side of driving is key. It’s probably more important to have confidence and to have the team believing in you. I believe Williams believe in me and I’m very confident here. We want better results and we will keep pushing and hopefully will improve!

Thijmen Schütte – Alfa Romeo

Hopefully I’m getting a drive in Event 3. Portimão could go very well for the team – it’s possible to do some great racing there, especially with the long straight. The track is fun to drive for all of us and I’m enjoying it.

DUBIT RAISES $8M FOR ROBLOX ESPORTS EVENTS

Dubit, the games studio and developer of virtual worlds for twenty years, has raised USD $8M to launch the world’s first live esports league in the metaverse, starting in Roblox. Dubit works with companies such as Disney, Facebook and Lego, and is already taking brands into Roblox.

The funding round was led by Metaventures and French investor Jean-Charles Capelli, valuing Dubit at USD $55 million. The company will now expand its existing metaverse activity, introducing Metaverse Gaming League (MGL) to pioneer branded gaming events and esports tournaments. Metaventures and Dubit are also creating consumer lifestyle experiences such as concerts and fashion shows for the metaverse.

Currently in beta, Metaverse Gaming League hosts regular live-streamed events in Roblox, the gaming and social platform with over 200 million monthly users. Events take place in popular games, and unlike professional esports events MGL offers everyone the chance to participate and win prizes, not just the elite players. Following its launch on Roblox, it will expand to other leading metaverse gaming platforms, such as Minecraft and Core.
