Spotlight Sports Group (SSG), a world-leading technology, content and media company, has announced a new 2-year partnership with bet365, seeing the leading bookmaker become the title sponsor of the Racing Post show, Upping the Ante, for the fourth and fifth consecutive series.

The new agreement will see bet365 sponsor 21 weekly shows providing an informed ante-post view for the Cheltenham Festival plus a dedicated Cheltenham Festival preview special. The video partnership also includes sponsorship of The Big Jump Off, which is Racing Post’s ultimate preview of the 2022-23 jumps season.

Upping the Ante has become the leading YouTube show for audience engagement among racing fans with record levels of engagement this past year. It also has consistently ranked as the most-watched pre-Cheltenham Festival show, most recently recording growth of more than 40% year-on-year in total show views.

This latest series of Upping the Ante will be hosted by David Jennings who will be joined by legendary punter, Johnny Dineen. As a former bookmaker with his very own pitch in the Cheltenham betting ring, Dineen is regarded as one of the most astute judges in Ireland.

Global Top Round (GTR), a subsidiary of GXC, has today announced the launch of its newest mergers and acquisitions (M&A) branch aimed at handling deals between $10M to $250M. GTR’s newest department will focus primarily on three areas of business: 100% equity sales, acquisitions, and fundraising.

To lead the department, GTR has hired Jacques Benchetrit as the company’s Head of M&A. Prior to joining Global Top Round, he served as M&A Manager for Zordix, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing M&A transactions for the firm. During this time, Jacques saw the need for advisory services in the video games industry that focused on smaller deal sizes, which is why he decided to join Global Top Round.

The M&A department will handle:

  • Exits — Assisting gaming companies who are looking to sell 100% of the company
  • Fundraising — Working with entrepreneurs on raising equity, debt, or a mix of both
  • Acquisition — Advising on the acquisition of gaming companies

The program will allow GTR studios to pitch themselves and kick-off with a three month work plan together before any deal is made. Similar to its accelerator program, GTR will work with each partner to maximize self-publishing, publisher, or venture capital plans.

IESF Concludes Inaugural SimRacing World Cup in Monaco

The International Esports Federation (IESF), in collaboration with the Monaco Esports Federation (MESF), hosted the first edition of the SimRacing World Cup on October 23, 2022, at Louis-II Stadium which featured 12 teams competing for a total prize pool of €4000.

Following an exciting round of qualifiers between 41 countries and 80 drivers, the top 12 teams secured their spots for the World Cup. Ivory Coast, New Zealand, Hungary, Slovenia, Thailand, India, Argentina, Algeria, Slovakia, Colombia, Monaco, and Spain competed in the final, with Slovenia’s Jernej Simoncic winning the gold medal. Spain took second place, followed by Hungary, Thailand, and Slovakia.

IESF continues to unite the World Esports Family with 6182 views combined on the French and English streams on the Monaco Sim Racing World Championship’s Twitch channel.
