Players in the Netherlands will be able to enjoy the greatest igaming experience on verticals such as casino, live casino, and sports betting.

LeoVegas Group is pleased to announce that LeoVegas.nl has been launched in the strategically important Dutch market through LeoVegas Gaming PLC. The Group was recently granted a five-year gaming license for casino, live casino, and sports betting, allowing LeoVegas, “The King of Casino”, to welcome Dutch players and gain market share as the Group’s international growth journey continues.

LeoVegas.nl will offer an ever-growing portfolio of entertaining slot games, Dutch-speaking live casino croupiers, and competitive sports betting odds to ensure the greatest igaming experience for players in the Netherlands.

Commenting on the announcement, Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas Group, said, “The King of Casino is finally home in the orange kingdom! I am delighted that we are taking steps into the Dutch market. The combination of a well known brand, our platform, and cutting-edge content will make LeoVegas.nl a contender for the leader’s jersey in the Dutch igaming market.”

During 2023, LeoVegas Group has been deepening its commitment to the European igaming market by launching sports betting and igaming brands in Denmark (expekt.dk), Germany (LeoVegas.de) and the UK (BetMGM.co.uk). The Group has also entered into strategic partnerships with top European football clubs such as Champions League finalists Inter and treble winners Manchester City F.C., as well as Newcastle United F.C. These partnerships are increasing brand awareness and visibility in connection to sports, and expanding the Group’s reach with audiences worldwide, supporting the ambition to launch LeoVegas Group as a global provider of the greatest igaming experience for both casino and sports betting.

LeoVegas Group is launching its sports betting brand expekt in Denmark, as part of the Group’s continuing international expansion. This follows expekt’s successful launch in the Swedish market in 2021, where it has grown rapidly to become one of the leading sports betting brands. The launch of nye expekt – the new expekt – in Denmark will strengthen LeoVegas Group’s sports betting offering to Danish customers and is part of the Group’s strategy to launch its brands in new markets and grow in sports betting.

Expekt, one of the Nordics’ oldest sports betting brands, was relaunched in Sweden in 2021 as “nya expekt”, meaning the “new expekt”. Following strong growth, the brand has re-established itself as a leader in sports betting in the Nordics. The brand is now relaunching in Denmark, after a 10-year absence, and Danish customers will benefit from a new smartphone app, competitive odds, and the greatest igaming experience.

Gustaf Hagman, CEO at LeoVegas Group, said “Expekt is one of the strongest brands in the Nordics, and we’re thrilled to be relaunching nye expekt in Denmark with a modern app and competitive odds. We have a clear strategy to expand by increasing the number of brands and markets where we’re present, and we see great potential for growth in sports betting.”

The launch of “nye expekt” will strengthen LeoVegas Group’s position in Denmark, and is part of the Group’s strategy to increase its focus on sports betting. In the past year, the Group has also entered into strategic partnerships with top European football clubs Manchester City F.C and FC Internazionale Milano.

BetUK announce sponsorship of the All-Weather Championships

Reading Time: 2 minutes

BetUK, part of LeoVegas Group, has announced an exclusive sponsorship deal with Arena Racing Company (ARC), the owners and operators of four of the six all-weather courses in the UK, and pioneers of the Championships. The sponsorship sees BetUK occupy advertising space across 600 races, in addition to naming rights.

Ahead of the tenth season of the All-Weather Championships, BetUK has secured multi-year sponsorship rights to Marathon, Middle Distance, and Sprint races staged during winter meetings at the four ARC-owned racetracks of Southwell, Wolverhampton, Lingfield Park, and Newcastle. The sponsorship deal is for an initial three-year period.

ARC operate 16 racecourses in total across Great Britain, accounting for roughly two-fifths of overall British Racing fixtures. They were a pioneer in the creation of the All-Weather Championships in 2013, established in an effort to promote all-weather racing and encourage owners and trainers to maintain the condition of their horses during the winter months.

As part of the agreement, BetUK banners and adverts will be displayed prominently around these four racecourses, which will reach an audience of both attendees and television viewers, with racecards featuring the brand’s logo, alongside ITV and Sky Racing each broadcasting selected races. BetUK also receives exclusive naming rights to all of the races across the series.

Chris Welch, Chief Commercial Officer at LeoVegas Group, said; “BetUK, Britain’s fastest-growing betting brand, is proud to sponsor The All-Weather Championships in their tenth season. We are thrilled to sponsor 600 races over the next 3 years. As this is our first major Racing sponsorship, it was important to find the right partner and the right quality races that match our vision and ambition for the BetUK brand. Racing punters are already enjoying over 40,000 live-streamed races from around the world on our site and we are sure this high-profile sponsorship will further cement BetUK as a punters’ favourite”.

Regarding the deal with BetUK, Director of Commercial Strategy & Partnerships at ARC, David Leyden Dunbar, said; “As the All-Weather Championships enter their tenth season, they are now a firmly established part of the British Horse Racing calendar. I’m delighted to welcome our new partner, BetUK, to the Championships and thank them for their support of the Sprint, Middle Distance and Marathon categories. The Championships continue to provide a compelling racing narrative with plenty of exciting action ahead over the winter period taking us through to the crowning of our new Champions on Good Friday with £1 million in prize money on offer”.

The first meeting gets underway at Newcastle Racecourse during the afternoon of October 18th, with BetUK offering exclusive promotions to players ahead of the opening fixture.

LeoVegas Group increase usage of safer gambling tools in Sweden and Denmark

Reading Time: 2 minutes

LeoVegas Group is launching personalised, on-site messages in the Swedish and Danish markets, following a successful rollout in the UK. Messages will educate customers about a range of safer gambling tools accessible through the sites and promote their use. On-site messaging is a proven way of increasing customer usage of safer gambling tools and developing more sustainable customer relationships, as part of LeoVegas Group’s safer gambling strategy.

LeoVegas Group launched personalised on-site messaging to UK-based customers in the autumn of 2021, educating customers about safer gambling tools. Data from the launch has shown that the messaging leads to an increased use of safer gambling tools and to deposit limits being maintained or lowered, and that these effects are greater for those customers identified as at risk of developing harmful gambling behaviours.

Using artificial intelligence, the Group’s risk model identifies those customers most at risk of developing harmful gambling habits, and then provides details of safer gambling tools and encouragement to set their own limits via personalised messaging. Content and urgency vary based on the customer’s individual gambling behaviour and history, and messages are given a prominent position on the game pages – a space that is otherwise used for promotions and new games. The launch is part of LeoVegas Group’s ongoing strategy to develop more sustainable customer relationships through an increased focus on safer gambling.

Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas group said, “We are thrilled that our on-site messaging has proven successful in the UK – not only in driving engagement with our safer gambling tools but also by having a positive effect on customer behaviour and helping to drive forward our quest for more sustainable customer relationships. By rolling this feature in Sweden and Denmark, we will continue to make gambling at LeoVegas Group even safer.”

Personalised messaging is now live in Sweden and Denmark on LeoVegas, Expekt and GoGo Casino brands. The service was already available on all brands in the UK and will be rolled out to additional markets in the near future.
