Sports Betting Increases In Popularity As Altenar Arrives In The Netherlands! | Achieving Certification

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Entering the Netherlands iGaming market has been a dedicated dream for Altenar for sometime and as a result, achieving certification within the region has been a tremendous achievement for the sports betting software provider that has followed in the footsteps of many powerhouses in the iGaming space.

This is where Altenar, a sportsbook software provider, has sparked interest in the Netherlands market and understood that its bespoke services will bring something fresh and unique to the market space.

As the Netherlands market opened up, it became clear to Altenar that a niche space had arrived, much akin to Italy, Spain and Sweden where regulation and certificates were potentially subject to change, but were also a must-have requirement for operations within the Netherlands.

With gambling inside the Netherlands regulated under the Betting and Gambling Act 2021 or as it’s locally known, Wet op de kansspelen 2021 “BGA”, Altenar’s team has taken the time to ensure operators using its sports betting software will be able to operate legally, in line with the necessary regulatory requirements.

Given the Netherlands betting market’s heritage for arcade-based games, Altenar’s use of widget technology, amongst other features, will offer familiar forms of betting that have taken shape in newer and more accessible forms through the iGaming space.

So, what does Altenar, a sports betting software provider bring to the Netherlands market, where betting is prohibited unless licensed and what makes Altenar the perfect sports betting provider for the region?

A Great Addition For The Netherlands iGaming Portfolio

Having achieved certifications in the Netherlands market, has garnered inordinate interest from operators with Altenar, who is known for its flexible and stable approach to sports betting content, software and long-standing relationships across the world.

It’s from a strong core of adaptability that Altenar has been able to secure its foothold in the Netherlands market, but it’s also an attribute to what Altenar has to offer. You can discover more about Altenar’s new features, success stories and case studies through its website, www.altenar .com, while informing yourself of what your operations could look like with Altenar’s sportsbook software.

With 24/7 support, an always improving risk management system, top-tier sports content and a dedication to innovation, Altenar’s sportsbook is set to take the Netherlands by storm and you can go along for the ride by contacting Altenar’s passionate team today.

Joining Altenar as it covers new ground and finds new ways to provide top-of-the-range sports betting software and content for your players will be one of your best investments this year.

Liberia: Rep. Kolubah Wants Betting Legislated

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Montserrado County District#10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, said he will shortly introduce a bill in the Legislature to legalise sports betting in the country.

Representative Kolubah made the disclosure on October 12 when he was seen cutting tickets at one of Winners Incorporated sales centres in his district on Old Road.

The opposition lawmaker, who is on annual break, was spotted placing his drill, ahead of the crucial UEFA Champions’ League group stage round three matches.

According to him, the bill will seek to regulate gambling in Liberia by legalising every aspect of the market, noting that would be nice for the country that is already struggling in poverty under the George Weah administration.

Thousands of unemployed youths across the country have gravitated to sports gambling, which has attracted several international sports betting companies to set up shops in Liberia.

They gather at these betting parlours to gamble on televised soccer matches. Some say it is a good source of income and occupation, but others are not so sure.

In Liberia, sports betting has become a real job opportunity for young people, who converge daily at various betting parlours in Monrovia, including Winner’s Incorporated, DOXXBET, and BETTOMAX Liberia, among others to watch soccer matches on flat-screen televisions via satellite, placing their bets and waiting for the results.

Few youths at a gaming centre in Monrovia said that sports betting for them have become the only option since, in fact, they are jobless and without any source of income.

Winner’s Incorporated marketing manager, Randall Kaybee, said sports betting is “transforming lives of Liberians” for just a few Liberian dollars per bet.

“As you just enter my office, you can see from this evidence. This is a ticket. Somebody bet 50 LRD and won 233,275 Liberian dollars,” Kaybee said.

Maria Ozawa denounces Online Casino K9Win for illegally using her image on its promotional campaigns

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Maria Ozawa recently released a strongly worded open letter admonishing K9Win for using her image and likeness in promotional materials after her contract with them as brand ambassador ended.

According to the letter, Ozawa signed a one-year deal with K9Win. She was ordered to use her personal social media accounts for their campaigns, leading to them either getting banned or restricted, upsetting her as she was not compensated for this misstep.

In addition, she feels that she has been grossly misled as the online gambling company continues to include her in promotions and posts on their website and social media accounts even after her contract with them has elapsed.

“To my full understanding and as explained to me by K9Win during the contract signing, I would cease being their brand ambassador upon the completion of our contract,” Maria pointed out in her letter.

“This misdirection has caused significant distress to me and my current partners,” she went on. “Hence, I would like to set the record straight and make things clear: I am no longer K9Win’s brand ambassador and am in no way associated with their company.”

She concluded her letter with: “I am currently a proud business partner of Asia’s leading online gaming entertainment platform, M88 Mansion.”

In a few days following the letter, Ozawa conducted a live stream where she further emphasized that she is no longer K9Win’s brand ambassador and that the company should stop using her likeness to their benefit.

Bacta is joining other organisations and putting its full support behind Safer Gambling Week 2022, the latest cross-industry initiative to share safer gambling messages both online and in land-based venues about the importance of gambling responsibly.

This year’s Safer Gambling Week event will run from 17th – 23rd October 2022 and will see the whole industry coming together in a concerted effort to promote safer gambling messages, as well as highlighting the tools available to customers to stay in control while signposting the help and support available to those potentially at risk.

The Safer Gambling Week campaign is organised by bacta, the Betting and Gaming Council, the Lotteries Council and the Bingo Association, and is now in its fifth year.

The annual campaign will build upon the record-breaking Safer Gambling Week 2021, during which the promotion and awareness of safer gambling tools such as deposit limits led to an increase by 17% in their use vs the previous four-week average.

The number of social media impressions for Safer Gambling Week 2021 – hit 24.5 million, an increase of 16 per cent on the previous year. And sessions on the Safer Gambling website in 2021 were 79% up on the previous year

Regulated betting and gaming operators already work tirelessly all year round to promote safer gambling, including by encouraging deposit limits and time-outs, as well as directing customers to the range of self-exclusion services that exist.

Safer Gambling Week provides an opportunity to go even further by encouraging businesses and organisations to start a conversation, not only with staff and customers, but also with their friends and family.

This year’s event will see a blitz of safer gambling messages both online and in land-based venues, sparking a nationwide conversation on how to bet responsibly.

A recent Gambling Commission report showed that the problem gambling rate in the year to March 2022 was 0.2 per cent – down from 0.4 per cent the year previous and down from 0.3% in the last published annualised figures in February 2022.

John White, CEO of Bacta, said: “Safer Gambling Week once again allows the industry to showcase its year-long commitment to safer gambling. It also brings customer focus to the tools that are available to them if they in anyway feel their gambling is becoming problematic. Those tools continue to grow as we learn more about safer gambling and form part of our ambition to cement social responsibility at the heart of our offer to the consumer.”

Rightlander Launches Smart Workbench

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Rightlander, the leading expert in advertising and affiliate compliance, has launched Smart Workbench, an AI-lead product designed to significantly reduce the marketing compliance workload.

The new technology ties content and sentiment to brand placement, increasing contextual relevance, reducing the need for analysis by around 80% while also introducing a faster work flow. The combined effect makes the task of affiliate compliance up to 90% less time intensive than any other comparable tool on the market.

Rightlander scans millions of pages every month across global jurisdictions identifying sources of traffic and then monitoring them for potential compliance issues. The introduction of the Smart Workbench allows it to learn from every action taken by the operator which in turn, decreases the time taken to solve compliance issues.

The software can detect logos, links, brand references, bonuses and inducements and misleading or deceptive marketing messages and draw conclusions if something is relevant to a client’s brand, filtering out the unnecessary data. Furthermore, the Smart Workbench can prioritise compliance issues based on the importance of an item, where it occurs on an affiliate site, and how it is presented contextually.

The new reporting system also provides context for each item which allows the operator to make a decision without having to leave the Smart Workbench.

Ian Sims, founder of Rightlander.com, said: “This is a game-changer for our clients. Rightlander’s unique ability to scan millions of pages is a key reason for our success but working at scale means we uncover many more potential issues than our competitors which of course, need to be dealt with.”

“Our focus in 2022 has been to find a solution to dramatically reduce the data that compliance teams have to deal without resorting to lower scan volumes and I’m blown away by what our dev team have come up with here.

“Rightlander’s Smart Workbench not only weeds out around 80% of the false positives, it also learns from each action taken so that the time it takes to resolve compliance issues reduces very quickly over a short time.”

Another major benefit of the Smart Workbench is its ability to help smaller compliance teams by translating issues in foreign languages into the chosen language of the compliance officer.

Ian Sims said: “Languages can be a major headache for teams. This enhancement to the system addresses the headache and helps to reduce the compliance budget overhead at the same time.”

Lithuania Gambling Supervisory Authority Imposes €15,000 Fine on Top Sport

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Lithuania’s Gambling Supervisory Authority has issued operator Top Sport UAB with a fine of €15,000 for failing to properly install a digital video recording system at two of its retail betting facilities.

An investigation by the regulator found that systems placed at the two locations in Klaipėda were not recording the premises properly.

The Authority said at one of the sites the video system set up to capture images of anyone who enters the shop was not recording accurately and the images were blurred, meaning it was not possible to identify those who had visited the premises.

The regulator’s investigation also found that the recording systems at both locations failed to capture images of financial transactions and also how much money was being paid in and out at each facility.

As such, the Authority said this breached article 15 part 3 of the Gambling Law of Lithuania, which states that video recordings must clearly show people entering the betting shop, as well as the actions of gamblers and bookmakers at the location.

The Authority noted that the decision is open to appeal by Top Sport.
